Mountain Biking in Cusco

This is a privilege sport in Cusco. The beauty of its landscapes and the rural characteristic of this department (giving them an especial quietness) make of the cycle routes unforgettable experiences. Mountain cycle is also an excellent possibility to visit the archaeological remain near Cusco such as Sacsayhuaman, Quenco, Tambomachay and Puca Pucara. It is also possible to make an excursion to the Sacred Valley and take your bike for some days. You can rent bikes for hours or days in agencies near the Main Square.

Description

Itinerary


Day 1 CUSCO- SACSAYHUAMAN- CUSCO

9:00 am. We will begin to ride the bike to Sacsayhuaman and other archaeological sites in the surroundings: Quenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, finishing in the main square of Cusco.

Biking Down the High Pass of Malaga 1Day

Description

Mountain Biking in cusco; This is an excellent place to have a downhill excursion. We will climb up to the high pass of Malaga (4,800 masl) and then descend to the Valley of Urubamba (2,700 masl), our destination being the town of Ollantaytambo.

Day 1

Departure at 6:00 AM, our destination being the high pass of Malaga (a 3 hour drive approx.) There our guide will give us a briefing as well as The complete necessary equipment for our descent by bike, we will finish and have lunch in Ollantaytambo and return to Cusco at 5:00 PM approx.

Description

This is a longer biking trip that sees the most important ruins on the highlands between Cusco and the Urubamba valley, with a constant view of snow capped mountains on the other side of the valley.We travel over gentle green hills and pass through picturesque small towns.

Itinerary


Day 1 CUSCO-URUBAMBA- CUSCO

At 9:00 AM we travel to Chincheros (30 minutes NW of Cusco). We will have a briefing, and then we will begin our adventure by bike, passing by Huaypo lagoon, and the archaeological site of Moray and, finally, the salt mines of Salineras.
Finishing the trip in Urubamba, we will have lunch and return to Cusco at about 4:00 PM.
