Shamanism
A shaman (also called medicine man/women, witch doctor, high priest, wizard, magician etc.) is someone who can harness the powers of the universe for the benefit of others. He/she knows to navigate in the sea of universal consciousness and perceive a world of total aliveness. Together with the Creator's creation a shaman can empower the spiritual seeker to access Universal Truth, Wisdom and Higher Consciousness and achieve holistic healing on Body, Mind and Spirit.
Shamans work and communicate with all living things, such as with “ Pachamama” (Mother Earth), “Inti”, the sun, “Mama Quilla”, the moon, the seven directions, the five elements, the stars, the ancestors, spirit guides, with the Apu (sacred mountains), with the plant- animal- and mineral-kingdoms, etc.
A Peruvian shaman's tools for cleansing and healing include the Master Teachers Ayahuasca, San Pedro and other medicinal plants, “ikaros” (sacred songs and sounds), musical instruments, tobacco, Agua de Florida (incense), sucking an affected area on the physical, emotional or spiritual body (extractions), the sacred Coca leaf, feathers, flowers, “Illas” (sacred rocks and stones), crystals, other natural elements, “Despacho” (offerings to Mother Earth), invocations and prayers.

AYAHUASCA and SAN PEDRO – The Master Teachers of the GODS!
Ayahuasca is the "Vine of the Soul", a sacred medicinal power plant, which grows as a vine in the Amazonian rainforest and is a natural psychotropic and hallucinogen. The shaman cooks this vine together with some other medicinal plants, mainly together with chacruna, over many hours in water into a thick, brownish brew. The Quechua term of this drink "Ayahuasca" refers to the freeing of the spirit or the essence of the soul. To take Ayahuasca is to be purged and purified. It cleanses the mental, emotional and spiritual body. It reaches deep inside and removes the layers of debris which obscure the soul, opening up to access and reconnect with knowledge and wisdom imprinted in our DNA, to psychic powers and to journey into the past, present and future. The Master Plant has a Spirit, and in the eye of a shaman it is a powerful Doctor, Surgeon and Medicine. Ayahuasca purifies and clears all faculties and  opens the users eyes and ears to the worlds inhabited by other beings,  induces dream states, great vision and liberation of all matter.
San Pedro is another great Healer and Teacher. It is a cactus that grows in the northern coastal region as well as in the Andes of Peru and Bolivia, and contains as its main alkaloid Mescaline. The stems of the cactus are sliced like bread and boiled for many hours in water. In a very similar way as Ayahuasca, San Pedro is a catalyst that activates all the complex forces at work in a healing ceremony, especially the visionary and divinatory powers. The magic of this cactus is used in curing illnesses, including alcoholism, to undo witchcraft and all sorts of sorcery, and to assure success in personal ventures etc. The aim of a shaman during a ceremony is to make the subconscious of the client open like a flower to facilitate the access of Universal Truth, Wisdom and Understanding of our true Selves, Others and Life! The magic of San Pedro goes beyond curing and divination, for it is believed to guard houses like a dog, whistling in an unearthly fashion and forcing the intruder to flee.
Living in a culture paranoid of the use of mind altering substances, associated what we call drugs in the Western World, natural power plants and medicines are sometimes dismissed as a dangerous and superficial form of spirituality. The contrary is true - the work involved with both Master Teachers facilitates an accelerated awakening of our multidimensional Self and our interconnection with all Living Things. It allows seeing beyond “the illusion” of that what we perceive to be reality through a deeper connection with Pachamama/Mother Earth and the Higher Realms and by channeling profound insights, messages and visions for a better understanding of the TRUTH OF ALL LIFE. Shamanic traditions have used Ayahuasca, San Pedro and other sacred medicinal plants to invoke profound mystical experiences, changes in consciousness and as a means of a cure for millennia. Their telepathic powers are connected to supernatural forces residing in their tissues, and they were divine gifts to the earliest Indians on Earth.
